Who says work can’t be fun? American Tree Experts is always looking for great people to join our team.
Dean Ziemienski is a third-generation arborist at American Tree Experts. For anyone thinking about a career in arboriculture, he says, “Where else can you truly enjoy the outdoors, stay in great shape and help the environment?”
The tree care industry in Wisconsin remains a hot bed of opportunity for qualified tree workers. Industry experts believe graduates don’t always consider the many benefits a potential career in arboriculture provides.
But there are efforts underway to grow the pool of job candidates in the green industry:
- The City of Milwaukee Dept. of Public Works applies federal funding to support a tree worker program to recruit, train and increase diversity among the workforce
- Gateway Technical College in Kenosha is launching an arboriculture/urban forestry program this fall
- Wisconsin’s Arborist Apprenticeship program is the first of its kind in the U.S. for on the job training
Associations in the tree care industry are reminding today’s workforce about the enjoyment of working outdoors. Check out this video to see how turning a favorite pastime into a career may only be a tree climb away.
